Atlanta Motor Speedway

For Danny's birthday he got a gift certificate to do the Rookie Experience at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. We took the boys out of school and all went down for the day to watch Dad drive a race car! When we scheduled Danny's drive, they ended up rescheduling us a few times so they gave me a free "ride along" as compensation. I totally lucked out on that one! :-)

When we got there we met an older man who let the boys (and me!)

get into the cars - which the boys LOVED!! They thought it was the coolest thing to sit in an actual race car!

When Danny came out, he was #2 in his class to get on the track and he wanted to make the most of his experience so he hit the ground running and came in with the fastest speed of anyone in that group.......he went 142 mph on the track! And the kicker was......he was driving alone....no instructor in the car! I thought that was the craziest thing!! They just let you loose!!

After Danny was done he got out of the car and looked like a KID! I don't think anyone could've taken the grin off his face :-) Then, it was my turn.......

and I have to say I was similar in my enthusiasm. I have been sky diving and scuba diving - both very exhilarating - but this was next in line! My driver took us to 165 mph and I could feel my body sliding to the door on the curves.....just incredible!! Definately a once in a lifetime experience! If you ever have a chance......wow, is it worth it!!

Go GATORS!

Event: Notorious Georgia/Florida Game
Location: Jacksonville (such a big rivalry that they can't play it at either school....it has to be played on neutral ground!)
Date: 11/1 (Danny's b-day!)
Time: 3:30pm
FINAL SCORE: 48 to 10

Watching the Dawgs go down..............PRICELESS!!

The Marcom's came over to watch the game. Jared is a Gator from Jax and Dawn is a Tennessee fan.....but today the entire family cheered the Gators onto victory! Reed is a huge Gator fan while Tad and Jared are GA Tech fans.....but today they all got into the spirit! PS - Tech won too in a huge upset against FL State!

Reed was exhausted by the end of the day......it's been a long weekend. :-)

Halloween!

Who doesn't love Halloween?! I, myself, look forward to the day when I can sit at home and hand out candy to all the cute little boys and girls :-) Just three more years and Reed will be turned loose to roam with his buddies like his brothers do now.....but until then, we enjoyed an absolutely beautiful night! We had two families join us for the nite of fun - the Speidel's and Shelley's. The men held down the fort while the women took the little ghouls door to door. Reed's favorite house was one a couple of streets away that had a werewolf living in the yard. He would chase you as you approached the door and Reed just thought he was the coolest!
